English for Human Resources has been developed for people who work in HR and who need English in their job. With this short course, HR Managers, their staff, and also those employed in personnel agencies can learn the relevant expressions and vocabulary that will enable them to communicate effectively in English in their field.

English for Human Resources has six units, each of which deals with different aspects of HR. Every unit begins with a Starter, which consists of a short exercise, a brainstorming activity, or a quiz. Following this section there are dialogues, texts, and authentic documents, along with a variety of exercises, which help students to learn important vocabulary and expressions in context. Within the units, there are references to the Partner Files at the end of the book. These information gap activities enable learners to work together and perform role-plays to practise the vocabulary and expressions from the unit in realistic situations.

English for Human Resources also deals with issues relevant to the field of HR. Every unit ends with an Output exercise, which is related to the topic of the unit and encourages discussion. The Useful Language boxes offer additional help with how to use the language needed for typical tasks related to Human Resources. The Did you know? boxes are full of interesting HR information. When you have finished studying the units, you can Test yourself! with a fun crossword that covers the vocabulary of the short course.

The MultiROM contains all the Listening extracts from the book. These can be played through the audio player on your computer, or through a conventional CD-player. In order to give yourself extra listening practice, listen to it in your car. The Interactive exercises let you review your learning by doing Useful phrases, Vocabulary, and Communication exercises on your computer, this will be particularly valuable if you are using the book for self-study. There are also useful documents including an A-Z wordlist with all the key words that appear in English for Human Resources. This includes a column of phonetics and a space for you to write the translations of the words in your own language.

In the appendix of English for Human Resources you will find the Partner Files for the role plays and the Answer key so that you can check your own answers if you are working alone. There are also Transcripts of the listening extracts. Finally, there are five pages of Model letters, and some Useful phrases and vocabulary, which can be used as a handy reference at work.
