People at work - lively and practical
Whether you have professional contact with people from Germany, Austria or Switzerland in your country or want to prepare for a future in one of the German-speaking countries: people at work need tailor-made language training that imparts practical knowledge.
Technical language makes specialist knowledge perfect!
Our new series People at Work imparts these job-specific language skills for different professional fields such as tourism, nursing, and medicine.
The focus is on the communicative skills that are required for the respective professional context. The technical vocabulary and frequently used expressions and mean of speech are systematically practiced: concrete situations from everyday working life are worked out with lively dialogues and a variety of authentic listening and reading texts.
The practical exercises ensure dynamism in the lesson. The course books in an attractive four-color layout contain CDs with all audio texts - in addition, all technical language is offered as audio training for listening and repeating as an MP3 download.
An online guide gives course instructors valuable tips on how to structure lessons.
The ideal technical language supplement
People at work is suitable as course material in purely technical language courses if you have appropriate general language knowledge or can be used alongside any general language textbook - for levels A1 - B1, for example as a supplement to People. The progression of people in tourism and people in care completely corresponds to the progression of people - this means that general and technical language can be ideally combined!
