Target group: - Eight- to Eleven-Year-old children in Germany or abroad with no previous knowledge.
Every child can learn languages - if the textbook speaks the children's language. That is why Planetino consistently focuses on the interests of the children.
In Planetino there are a variety of tasks and exercises that provide variety in the classroom and enable learning with all the senses. Games, rhymes, and songs alternate with partner and group exercises and handicrafts promote concentration.
The multi-sensory approach keeps young learners motivated for longer. The cheerful comics and pictures in the textbook play an important role, as they have a motivating and identification-building effect and encourage learners to participate.
Learning strategies in the course book as well as self-evaluation pages and self-monitoring exercises in the workbook help the children to learn independently from the start and to develop an awareness of their learning progress.
Planetino consistently and specifically implements the portfolio concept of the Common European Framework of Reference. In the course and workbook, exercises for further work with the portfolio are marked with a special pictogram.
The language is simple and age appropriate. The vocabulary required for exams at level A1 is completely worked out in three volumes.
A chronological word list at the end of the course book shows all the words dealt with and distinguishes between active and passive vocabulary. Phonetics are thoroughly practiced from the start.
