Listening skills include:

Note-taking, using scientific numbering, using lecture handouts effectively, understanding a speaker's arguments, understanding concessions and recognizing start / end of digressions

Speaking skills include:

Clarifying issues in a discussion, raising / dealing with an objection, expressing and dealing with uncertainty, summarizing and referring to research

Reading skills include:

Highlighting key points, recognizing and recording sources, making inferences, reacting to texts and understanding sentence relationships

Writing skills include:

Linking sentences, restating (avoiding plagiarism), supporting statements with evidence, writing about graphs and using lexical cohesions
