Although disappeared after the conviction of 1277 the Latin Averroism as an independent school, but new Aristotle comments that indicated a keen interest in heterodox Aristotelian doctrines developed in the years 1280-1300 in Paris. Today we know more than ten handwritten texts surviving, which are characterized by this spirit. Only two authors have been known by name: Ferrandus Hispanus and Giles of Orleans, not one of the documents mentioned has been edited. The Quaestiones super De generatione et corruptione of Giles of Orleans are thus the first of the late 13th Averroistic comments Century, who appears in a critical edition. The Quaestionen contain a detailed analysis of the question of the first matter (prima materia). In addition, they deal with classical problems that formed the core of the controversy surrounding the Averroism: the doctrine of the eternity of the world (aeternitas mundi) and the related question of the possibility of creation (creation ex nihilo, creatio in tempore). In addition to these traditional Averroistic problems, questions are discussed in Giles associated with the doctrine of the sacraments and, just shortly after 1277 were a particularly sensitive issue.
