This book on the use of discursive strategies in politics is the result of an interest in the ways language is strategically employed in order to implement particular policy making preferences. Hence, with the help of critical discourse analysis (CDA), it approaches Turkish politics from an interdisciplinary discourse-analytical perspective in order to deepen our understanding of political power and discourse. Thus, this study re-conceptualizes discursive strategies as hegemonic projects and analyses them with the help of the DHA (discourse-historical approach). It also provides readers with a theoretical discussion on the nature of political discourse through references to deliberative, agonistic and critical realistic approaches.
