The present volume Frisian Studies II contains the papers of scientists from different disciplines from Denmark, Germany, the UK and the Netherlands on the occasion of the second symposium on F?hrer Frisian Philology, from the 7th-8th April 1994 Alkersum on the North Frisian island of Foehr took place. From the perspective of linguistics and archeology, the contributions to the status of Frisian in the North West Germanic continuum, especially with the special Anglo-Frisian runes and with the pre-and early history of the North Frisian and North Frisian deal. Other articles examine the basis English, Frisian and Scandinavian place names, the role of the Frisians in the migration period and point to the possibilities of modern DNA research of the identification and dating of archaeological finds. Remarks on the situation and prospects of Frisistik in Germany conclude the volume.
